Sustainability Education & Training Centre Garden
A beautiful resource demonstrating best practice approaches to water conservation as well as energy and waste wise behaviours.
Featuring a variety of water tanks, mulched indigenous, native and other themed plantings, a tank to toilet system and demonstration grey water recycling, the garden will actually reduce water consumption at the site by 900 kilolitres annually.

The garden also features composting, hydroponics and a fully redeveloped wetland. A topical feature is our demonstration oval, featuring drought-tolerant turfs and underground drainage to collect runoff for reuse - a vital approach to address ovals hardened and damaged by drought.

Model revegetated grounds
When Gould League first came to the Moorabbin centre, the grounds were sparse and bare. Now visitors can explore an urban forest, with mature native trees, nestboxes, peaceful shady seating and perfect grounds for minibeast forages. This amazing transformation demonstrates how effectively urban areas can be revegetated to provide beautiful and healthy spaces that boost native biodiversity and provide homes for Australian wildlife including birds, butterflies, frogs and possums.
