Climate Change Education Centre Garden

A magnificent educational garden demonstrating best practice approaches to water conservation as well as energy and waste wise behaviours.

We invite visitors to the garden. Let us know:

  • What day/s or date/s you wish to visit

Please note that a small cover charge may apply for a tour and a cuppa. The garden is not able to support large student groups but teachers are welcome to bring small numbers of student representatives such as garden clubs, enviro or school captains.

The garden, located at Gould Group’s Moorabbin Climate Change Education Centre, is available for pre-arranged visits and as part of our professional development programs.

The Water Wise Discovery Garden under development

The Climate Change Education Centre Garden features

  • Miniature house with rain water harvesting and demonstration greywater recycling system
  • Mini sports oval demonstrating subterranean drip irrigation and drainage to slab water tanks
  • Water efficient hydroponic system
  • Creek bed feeding to the wetland/with run off from school roofs
  • Water tanks and subterranean dripper irrigation systems feeding garden beds
  • A variety of water tanks – slab, sacs, slimline, standard round, in ground and above ground
  • Grey Water Recycling demonstration unit
  • Solar energy panel
  • Small weather station
  • Demonstration compost area
  • Different types of gardens and plantings
  • Solutions for problem areas such as cool, dry, south facing areas
  • Nest boxes in trees
  • Wetland/biodiversity area
  • Lizard lounge

  • Seating area for groups and mini stage platform
