Gould Group’s programs have consistently been recognized by national and international organisations. Here is a sample of some of our achievements and the awards that we have won in recent years.

2008

National Winner - Energy Globe Award - The World Award for Sustainability
Gould Group was again named the national winner for Australian for its Green Schools program - a suite of outstanding environmental and sustainability education programs in Australian schools.

Finalist - Premier's Sustainability Awards - Community Category
Recognising the amazing difference Gould Group's Multicultural School Gardens project has made in creating a sense of community through establishing food gardens and volunteer gardening teams in Victorian schools.

2007

Finalist - Premier's Sustainability Awards - Community Cateogry
Recognising the extensive contribution Gould Group has made to protecting and
enhancing Victoria’s environment through results achieved across our suite of programs and projects and the power of real-life environmental education.

Winner - Not for Profit Network Awards - Team Member of the Year
Recognising longstanding team member Helen Widdop-Quinton's work, particularly in the area of developing innovative new schoolgrounds development programs including Schoolgrounds for Learning (Masterplanning) and Multicultural School Gardens, as well as a host of other important contributions.

2006

Energy Globe Award - The World Award for Sustainability - Youth Category
The Victorian Waste Wise Schools program, developed and managed by Gould Group with funding from Sustainability Victoria was named the National Energy Globe Winner for Australia and was the runner-up in the international Youth category of these prestigious awards.

Winner, Integral Energy Community Award, National Multicultural Marketing Awards
Gould Group won this award for its Multicultural School Gardens program.

2005

Winner, Education Category, Victoria's Awards for Excellence in Multicultural Affairs
Gould League and Sunshine North Primary School won this Award for the Community Multicultural Gardening Project in Schools.

Winner, 2005 Eureka Prize for Sustainability Education
The Victorian Sustainable Schools Pilot Program was awarded the 2005 Allen Strom Eureka Prize for Sustainability Education.Visit the Eureka Awards website.

2005 Prime Minister's Environmental Award
Gould League was a national finalist in the prestigious Prime Minister's Environmental Awards.

2005 Banksia Environment Awards
The Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative (AUSSI) was a category finalist in the 2005 Banksia Environment Foundation Awards. AUSSI was piloted in NSW and Victoria between 2002-2004 with major funding from the Department of Environment and Heritage. Gould League and CERES Community Environment Park delivered the Sustainable Schools Pilot in Victoria while the NSW pilot was delivered by the NSW Department of Environment and Conservation and the NSW Department of Education.

2004/2005 Pirelli International Awards
Gould League's Australian Wildlife Cam website was one of five finalist websites in the Education Category of the international Pirelli Awards. This is an outstanding achievement recognising the innovative concept and development behind this multi-award winning and popular website.

AIMIA Award TrophyAustralian Interactive Multimedia Industry Association Awards
Gould League's Australian Wildlife Cam website received the prestigious Australian Interactive Multimedia Industry Award for Best Science (category).

 

 

 

Minister Thwaites presents the Victorian Coastal Council Award for Excellence in EducationVictorian Coastal Council Awards for Excellence
Gould League received the Victorian Coastal Council Award for Excellence in Education for a suite of programs and resources including books, CoastCare/CoastAction Holiday Programs, marine education programs and the Sea For Yourself website.

World Environment Day Awards
Gould League was a finalist for the Best Community Based Environment Project or Initiative at these prestigious awards.

2003

EPA Allen Strom Eureka Prize
The Waste Wise Schools Program was awarded the 2003 EPA Allen Strom Eureka Prize for Environmental Education. The $10,000 Allen Strom Eureka Prize for Best Environmental Education Program was sponsored by the NSW Environment Protection Authority. It recognises excellence in the design, implementation and evaluation of environmental education programs.

Banksia Foundation Environmental Awards
The Sustainability Victoria/Gould League Waste Wise Schools Program was a finalist in the prestigious 2003 Banksia Foundation Environmental Awards.

Stormwater Innovation Awards
Gould League won the Education and Awareness Category in the Stormwater Industry Association Victoria's (SIAV) Stormwater Innovation Awards 2003 for the Living Water Stormwater Literacy Kit.

Wilderness Society Environment Awards
The Wilderness Society Environment Award highly recommended two Gould League publications - Australian Guide to Whales and Dolphins and Australian Guide to Mammals - on their short list of recommended environmental books for Children's literature.

2002

Allen Strom Eureka Award TrophyAllen Strom Eureka Awards
The Gould League was a finalist in the 2002 Allen Strom Eureka Awards for Environmental Education for the innovative Futurescapes website.

 

Omni Intermedia Awards
The Flora for Fauna website won a silver Omni International Intermedia Awards in April 2002.

International Web Page Awards
The Flora for Fauna website developed by the Gould League won an International Web Page Award (IPWA) for Creative Excellence in 2002.

Yahoo Top 10 Websites
The Flora for Fauna website was voted one of the top ten new websites added to the Yahoo web directory in 2002.

Australian Webdesigners.net Site of the Day
The Australian Webdesigners.net Site of the Day Award recognises originality, technical excellence, functionality and good website design. Wildscape was awarded Site of the Day in September 2002.

2001

Ericsson Award
The Gould League was one of five "not-for-profit" organisations world-wide to win an international Ericsson Award for website development ($US100 000 of in-kind web development during 2001). The award was used to develop the Futurescapes website

Prime Minister's Award
The Gould League was a finalist in the Prime Minister’s Award and Communications section of the Banksia Awards (May 2001).

Eureka Science Award
The Gould League won the Allen Strom Eureka Science Award for Environmental Education (May 2001) for the Wildscape website.

Omni Award
The Wildscape website was an Omni Award winner scooping two Omni International Intermedia Awards (Bronze and Silver in April 2001).
